Star Wars Collectables To Help MediCinema

Star Wars.com is helping to offer fans the chance to have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a unique set of collectables, signed by an enormus list of Star Wars stars, all to help in rasing funds for a new cinema to be built in a hospital in Glasgow, Scotland.

Medicinema is a unique group that brings the magic of the film industry to patients within the confines of a hospital by building state of the art cinemas. It's 100% free to the patients, and their families, as well as hospital staff because of the outpouring of support this project receives from film distributors, sponsors, and corporate supporters.

All of the screeing rooms that are built by this great group of folks are built around an easy access format where even patients in beds, or wheelchairs can enjoy the darkening of the theatre, and the dolby surround system comming to life to bring the expirience of a great movie, even with the occasional bleep of a monitor.

The Collectables are mats originally designed for a 2002 fundrasing dinner, and screening of Attack of The Clones. Jerome Blake, a patron of the MediCinema group, came up with the idea to autograph the mats. With his appearance in Episode III as Mas Amedda, he was able to get the signatures of all the principal cast, as well as George Lucas on 6 of the mats to be auctioned for MediCinema, with the proceeds going to the construction of the new theatre.
