In a report placed on the Forum Boards on Star Trek.com, the official website won't be closing down as of Dec.31 as had been originally reported earlier this month.Due in large part to the overwhelming response of Star Trek, and Sci-Fi fans worldwide, Paramount has decided to keep the site up, and running as a tribute to the 40 year old franchise started by the late Gene Roddenberry.
After a hugely abysmal year for the franchise, and her fans, this is more than welcome piece of news for not only us here at Sci-Fi News, but to each and every Trek fan around the world! At least for the forseeable future, Star Trek.com is here to stay.
